Late Threat Falls Short in Series-Opening Loss at Samford

Birmingham, Ala. – Western Carolina struggled to find its offensive rhythm over the opening eight innings of Friday's Southern Conference baseball series-opener at Samford before mounting a late charge but was unable to find its ninth-inning magic in dropping game one 6-2 at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
