CHICKASHA, Okla. – Saturday afternoon, the No. 12 ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (15-7, 5-3 SAC) had their win-streak snapped as they suffered a pair of losses in the double-header against No. 6 ranked Oklahoma City University (23-1, 8-0 SAC). The Stars dominated in both games, winning by scores of 19-4 and 14-2. GAME 1 – In the lop-sided opener, the Stars tallied 21 hits to score their 19 runs. In contrast, the Drovers only pieced together four hits to bring in four runs.The Drovers used five pitchers in the game, while Eli Davis was sensational on the mound for OCU.Peyton McDowall (JR/Cibolo, TX) had the loudest performance for the Drovers, going 1-3 with a solo-homerun. Gabriel Arroyo (SO/Arecibo, Puerto Rico) contributed a 1-1 performance that included a pair of walks and a pair of runs scored. Gage Gaunt (SO/Clinton, OK) went 1-3 with a double and a run batted in, while Colton Bensch (SR/Mustang, OK) went 1-3 with a double, a run scored, and a RBI. GAME 2 – The Stars continued to swing the bats very well in the second game, stringing together 15 hits to score 14 runs. USAO's offense was able to produce nine hits in the second game of the day, scoring a pair of runs.OCU got a stellar pitching performance from Tanner Schoeninger, while the Drovers used four different pitchers to get through the contest.Brock Henderson (JR/Chickasha, OK) led the Drovers at the dish, going 2-3 with a RBI-double. Brandon Shumway (SR/Chickasha, OK) went 1-3 with a double and a run scored, while Gage Gaunt went 1-4 with a double, a run scored, and a run batted in. Luis Pelayo (SR/Santa Cruz, Aruba), Joey Pena (SR/Mustang, OK), Will Hoch (Oklahoma City, OK), Jake Womack (SR/Chickasha, OK), and Luke Lewis (SO/Ft. Cobb, OK) each singled.
