Baseball alumnus Adam Heidenfelder assigned to Myrtle Beach Pelicans

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – SUNY Old Westbury baseball alumnus and former assistant coach Adam Heidenfelder, who had his contract transferred to the Chicago Cubs, was assigned to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Low-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, on Friday, July 16. Heidenfelder has been pitching for the Arizona Complex League Cubs (Rookie Level) and the Gary SouthShore RailCats (American Association of Professional Baseball), respectively. He is one of 15 players to sign professionally under the tutelage of head coach Rod Stephan.
