[Baseball] Bees fall to Tigers, still alive in conference tournament

St. Ambrose fell to Olivet Nazarene 5-2 in the winner's-bracket semifinals Sunday evening.The Fighting Bees are still just one game out from the conference tournament final, however, as they have sitll have one life left in their conference tournament run.Similar to the regular season, the Fighting Bees' bats couldn't get going against the Tigers, only mustering up four hits across the bout.Olivet scratched a run across in the opening frame, added another in the fifth and two more in the top of the sixth before the Bee's got on the board in their half of the sixth. Cooper Huckabone chopped a grounder to thirdbase and used his legs to force an errant throw out of the Tiger defensemen, allowing Adrian Zietara to dash home from third.In the following frame, Mike Snow rocked a double down the left field line that scored Max Rumpf from first base. However, this was the last run the Bee's would score, with the game closing at 5-2.Nick Vollmert was credited with the loss, going 7 2/3 innings as the starter.The Fighting Bees will play a rematch against Judson for a spot in the conference tournament finals and a bid for the national tournament. That game is scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m.
