Baseball came to Stout Institute in spring 1909

UW-Stout first played baseball as an institution in 1909 when the Stouts played a local amateur team, the Menomonie Blue Caps on April 24, 1909 at the Fairgrounds. The teams played to a 5-5 tie before the game was called on account of rain in the 10th inning. Baseball would come and go from Stout's athletic offerings over the years and has been played yearly since 1946.
