[Baseball] PILOTS CRUISE TO 26-0 VICTORY OVER CHAMPION CHRISTIAN

LSUS Baseball put up their second biggest inning in school history as they scored 17 runs in the fifth inning on their way to a 26-0 thumping of Champion Christian. The Pilots win moves them to 21-11 on the season. The Pilots have now won nine consecutive games. HOW IT HAPPENEDAlex Bookman got the start on the mound for the Pilots and logged four shutout innings of baseball with three strikeouts. He picked up the win allowing just five base runners over four innings of work. He was followed by Ross Capone, Austin Tambellini, Ryne Ray and Harrison Gaiennie who each did their part to finish off the shutout. Offensively, the Pilots went WILD! They scored the second most runs in an inning in school history when they scored 17 runs in the fifth. The fifth inning was capped off by six runs batted in by Miguel Morgan. Miguel hammered a grand slam and followed it up with a two-run double in the inning.  Miguel finished the game with seven total runs batted in.Zeke Maldonado paced the Pilots with three hits in the game and four RBI of his own. Austin McNicholas, Mike Hampton, Josiah Ortiz and Morgan each had two hits in the game. The Pilots finished with 17 hits in the game.PLAYER OF THE GAMEMiguel Morgan – Six RBI in ONE INNING?! YEP. Tough not to give Miguel today's player of the game award. He led the way with 7 RBI and his grand slam was the exclamation point on today's 17-run fifth inning. Shreveport will face William Carey tomorrow as they meet the Crusaders for a pair.
