[Baseball] PILOTS TAKE TWO-GAME SERIES VERSUS MOBILE

LSUS Baseball picked up their sixth straight win as they defeated Mobile in both games today. Shreveport won game one 7-6 in extra innings beforing finishing off the Rams 5-1 in game two. Shreveport's record moves to 18-11 on the season. GAME ONE *GAME ONE STATS*Game one finished with the Pilots taking the lead in the top of the eighth inning when Payton Robertson scored as Julian Flores was walked with the bases loaded. Then Luisdiego Quintana came on to close out the game for the Pilots and picked up the save as Josh Fortenberry received the win for the Pilots. Quintana struck out the side to pick up the save. Offensively, Kody Kolb was at it again as he picked up two more hits. Miguel Morgan provided the Pilots with their timely hitting as he drove in three runs on two hits which were both doubles. Austin McNicholas drove in a pair of runs for the Pilots, as well. G1 PLAYER OF THE GAMEMiguel Morgan – Miggy delivered a pair of doubles which scored three Pilots. He finished 2-4 while leading the team in runs batted in for game one. GAME TWO*GAME TWO STATS*Kevin Miranda was the story in game two as he dominated during six innings of work. He struck out nine batters while allowing just one run. He did allow eight hits but limited the damage and used the strikeout to escape tight situations. Trent Sholders finished off the win for Miranda as he threw a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout. The Pilots pre-season All-American Payton Robertson continued his hot hitting as he picked up three hits in game two. Two of his hits were doubles as he provided two RBI and a run scored for the Pilots. Josh Wunnenburg showcased his power with a two-run homer as he turned in a two-hit day. The Pilots totaled eight hits in the 5-1 win.G2 PLAYER OF THE GAMEKevin Miranda – Miranda showed his ace potential striking out nine batters in eight innings of work. He held the Rams to just one run as he improved to 2-2 on the season.
