Baseball Pulls Away from GVSU Late to Claim Series Opener
DETROIT — Holding on to a 6-5 lead against Grand Valley State (18-18 overall, 10-7 GLIAC) through six-and-a-half innings on Friday at Harwell Field, the Wayne State University baseball team (24-13 overall, 13-6 GLIAC) tallied a pair of runs in both the seventh and eighth innings. Jacoby Dale hit a two-run home run in the seventh before Logan Van Sicklen did the same the very next inning to make it a 10-5 final. The Warriors and Lakers will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
