[Baseball] Rio earns split with IU Southeast

Rio Grande Sports Information    RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The University of Rio Grande knocked off one of the top programs in the NAIA on Friday afternoon, but the RedStorm's hopes for pulling a doubleheader sweep of Indiana University Southeast came up just a tad short.    Rio made a early lead stand up for an 11-7 opening game victory, but saw the 17th-ranked Grenadiers rally late for a 2-1 win in the nightcap of their River States Conference twin bill at frigid Bob Evans Field.    The RedStorm finished the day at 12-23 overall and 3-8 in league play as a result of the split.    IU Southeast, an NAIA World Series participant last season, closed the day at 18-9 overall and 7-1 in the RSC.
