[Baseball] TIGERS SECURE FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

McKenzie, Tenn. – The Tigers pick up their first win of the season in the first of three games against Bethel University in Tennessee. The Tigers grabbed a quick one-run lead in the first inning when Jordan Veldman (FR/Mahomet, Ill.) scored on a single by Braedon Payne (SO/Avon, Ind.). Tyler Fisher (SR/Limestone, Ill.) and Jacob Bulthuis (JR/Tinley Park, Ill.) were both walked in the inning, moving Veldman to third to score easily for the opening run of the game. Then in the fifth inning, the Tigers would add two more to their lead, with Gunnar Pullins (SO/Valparaiso, Ind.) entering the fold. It was then at the bottom of the fifth that the Tigers gave up their first run of the game, but they would then add another two runs to their lead in the following inning.
