Christian Woodie Named MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week

On Monday morning, Messiah's Christian Woodie was named the MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on Apr. 16. Woodie helped the Falcons to a three-game series victory over the weekend, tossing a complete game shutout in a seven-inning, 9-0 victory over the Alvernia Golden Wolves. Woodie allowed just one hit in the game, a leadoff single in the bottom of the second that was later erased on a double play.
 
In total, Woodie threw 11 innings on the week, tossing four frames against No. 4 Johns Hopkins on Monday evening. In that game, he allowed two runs on six hits while striking out one against one of the nation's most potent offense.
