University of Houston senior Ryan Hernandez clubbed a go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh inning and graduate Santiago Garcia registered four hits as the No. 3 seed Cougars defeated No. 6 seed Wichita State 10-7 in the TicketSmarter American Athletic Conference Championship opener Tuesday night from BayCare Ballpark.
