Lancers Drop First Game of WAC Weekend to GCU

PHOENIX, AZ— The California Baptist baseball program opened a crucial Western Athletic Conference series with Grand Canyon on Friday evening and dropped the first game of the weekend 11-1. What started a competitive match-up got away from the Lancers in the fifth inning and a six-run eighth inning triggered the run-rule, improving GCU to 27-18 on the season and 17-5 in WAC play. CBU moves to 29-17 on the year and now holds a 14-8 conference record.
