Martell Stays Hot in AEC Doubleheader Loss at Neumann University

Aston, Pa. – (4/16/2023) – Gwynedd Mercy University (13-15, 3-9) completed their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) series against Neumann University (12-15, 3-6) with today's doubleheader. Despite a 4-for-7 afternoon from senior second baseman Jake Martell (Levittown, Pa.), the Griffins dropped the first game to the Knights by a 7-2 measure and the second by tighter 6-5 spread. Sophomore pitcher/left fielder Cooper Root (Runnemede, N.J.) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run-batted-in (RBI) in the opener, and he threw the first 7.1 innings of the second game; ND, 7.1 innings, 8H, 4ER, 3BB, 2K.
