Mustangs Win Opening Series Weekend

The USW Mustangs opened the 2024 season against McPherson College this past weekend.  The Mustangs scored four runs in the 1st inning and the offense stayed hot by scoring in every inning by the 4th.  The offense was led by leadoff man David Amaya who was on base four times and was 2-3 with a double and single.  Isaiah Alba had 3 RBI and scored 2 runs and was 1-4 in game 1.  The Mustang's had 7 hits in game 1 and won the game 10-2.  A.J Cordova was the starting pitcher for game 1 and he kept the McPherson Offense guessing at the plate.  A.J threw 5 innings with 7 strikeouts and 1 earned run for the contest.  Angel Rios and Isaac Baeza each threw an inning to close out game 1 giving the Mustangs a 10-2 victory.
