DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University junior Austin Vernon (Raleigh, N.C.) faced just one over the minimum as he tossed eight strikeouts in eight innings of work, and authored the first no-hitter at NCCU in the modern era as the Eagles defeated Delaware State, 10-0, on Friday, May 7 at the Durham Athletic Park.
