Northeastern Takes Series Opener over Hofstra, 13-1

BROOKLINE, Mass. – Jared Dupere crushed two home runs, matching Carlos Peña's single-season mark of 13, while Max Viera and Danny Crossen each drove in two runs to lead Northeastern (24-6, 12-0 CAA) past Hofstra (15-16, 6-10 CAA), 10-1, in the opening game of this four-game Colonial Athletic Association baseball series at Friedman Diamond on Friday. Right-handed pitcher Cam Schlittler (5-0) won his fifth consecutive start, scattering five hits and striking out six.
