Panthers Pick Up First Conference Win

The Principia Panthers hosted the Fontbonne University Griffins in a midweek conference double header. Coming off short rest, Chris Stamos was on the mound for the Panthers in game one. The Griffins jumped out to an early lead on a two out grand slam. Fontbonne's ace dominated the Panther lineup and tallied 13 strikeouts and only gave up two hits. One by Chris Stamos and the other coming off the bat of Sean Hannan.  Stamos would settle in and threw scoreless third and fourth innings. Grayle Kendall came in in relief and had a good fifth inning. A combination of walks and defensive miscues allowed an 8 run inning for the Griffins as they took a commanding 14-0 lead.  Spencer Cobb picked up two strikeouts in his one shutout inning of relief.
