POLEMENI BREAKS SINGLE-SEASON STOLEN BASE RECORD AS DOLPHINS ERUPT FOR 17 RUNS AGAINST CALDWELL
Caldwell, NJ – The College of Staten Island Baseball Team won their second straight game today as they erupted for 17 runs in a victory over Caldwell University. The Dolphins improve to 14-27 on the year with win and take the season series with the Cougars two games to one. The Cougars fall to 10-24 with the loss. In the sixth inning of the Dolphins win, Chris Polemeni swiped second base as the tail runner in a double steal, his 28th stolen base of the season. This gives him sole possession of the program's single-season record for stolen bases, a record that has stood since 1982 when Val Cyrus stole 27 bags. Not only did Polemeni break the longstanding record, but he has done so without being caught stealing.
