Ram Talk Episode 1: Baseball head coach Bobby Garza

We are proud to introduce Ram Talk, a summer series of video interviews where we get to know our amazing coaching staff and administrators. In our first installment of Ram Talk, we sits down with Head Baseball Coach Bobby Garza to talk the abrupt stop of the baseball season, what life's been like in quarantine, his favorite memories from his playing days, his philosophy on leadership and more.

Ram Talk will take you inside the mind and mindset of each Texas Wesleyan Athletic program all summer long, bringing you the different personalities of athletic leadership in depth. Visit ramsports.net for all athletic news and information about Texas Wesleyan and its 20 different athletic programs.

Garza is 89-42 in four season at the helm of Rams baseball. In his first full season at the helm (2019), the Texas native led the team to an NAIA National Tournament Opening Round bid and one of the program's most successful seasons in school history with 46 wins, the third highest total in program history. The team also shattered the single season strikeouts record with 521, 100 strikeouts over the previous record set in 2013. He has coached a pair of All-Americans including 2018 NAIA Player of the Year Kiki Menendez as well as 14 All-Conference players and seven NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Also this week, we interview 2017 NAIA DI Men's Basketball National Coach of the Year Brennen Shingleton. Next week, we talk to Athletic Director Ricky Dotson and Head Athletic Trainer Peter Brock.
