Santa Clara Takes Series Opener

Santa Clara right hander Cole Kitchen struck out eight over seven scoreless innings as the visiting Broncos earned a 6-1 victory over UC San Diego Friday evening at Triton Ballpark in game one of a three-game series.

UC San Diego dropped to 4-5 on the season with the loss while the Broncos are 4-3 following Friday's win.
