Thompson Has Dominant Start, Spartans Defeated Twice by Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif.—Left-handed pitcher Micky Thompson tossed 7.1 innings, allowing only three runs on four hits while striking out five to lead the San José State baseball team (19-17, 12-6 Mountain West) in the first game of a doubleheader against Fresno State (20-18, 11-9 Mountain West) on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans fell 4-1 in the first game and 8-3 in the second game at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium.
