Top Moments of 2019-20: Jacob Buchberger named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – We continue our top moments series with Jacob Buchberger being named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American in baseball. Buchberger established himself as one of the best players in Division II and was recognized for his abilities in the classroom. Buchberger won this prestigious honor for the second year in a row, also being selected during his junior season when he was named GLIAC Player of the Year. At the conclusion of the shortened spring season in 2020, Buchberger caught the eye of the St. Louis Cardinals, who signed him to a free-agent contract. His .415 career batting average is tops at DU and he also ranks first in slugging (.702), second in on-base (.491), second in triples (11), second in home runs (20) and fourth in runs scored (133).
