Tritons in Tokyo: Two Baseball Alumni Selected to Team Israel, Headed to Olympics

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Two former UC San Diego baseball players have officially been named to Team Israel's roster and are headed to the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. Right-handed pitchers Shlomo Lipetz '05 and Alon Leichman '16 initially made the 44-player expanded roster and were just recently selected as part of the 24-man traveling team. Team Israel's General Manager Peter Kurz submitted the list of athletes to the World Baseball Softball Confederation and Olympic Committee.
