Wildcats Finish Spring Break Trip With Three Consecutive Wins

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Penn College finished off their Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach in style winning their final three games.  They swept Albertus Magnus College by the scored of 3-2 and 5-2 before beating Penn State Schuylkill in the finale 9-5.  The Wildcats finished their Spring Break tri[ with a 5-3 record pushing their overall season record to 5-5 overall.  
 
Penn College 3, Albertus Magnus College 2 (Game 1)
How it Happened: Nathan Holt pitched a complete game four hitter while striking out 10 batters en route to picking up his second victory of the season.
Inside the Box: Jacob Carles, Keegan Nytz, and Brayden Lippert all finished the game with two hits apiece.  Carles scored two of the three runs.  Colton Riley scored the other run and knocked in Carles with an RBI double.   
 
Penn College 5, Albertus Magnus College 3 (Game 2)
How it Happened:   The Wildcats broke open a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 4th inning as they plated three runs on a Brittan Kittle home run and Kolten Smith two-RBI double to right.  
Inside the Box:  Joe Fatzinger picked up his first win of the season striking out eight in five innings of work.  Clark Jackson got the save allowing one run in two innings of work.  Tyler Rudolph and Keegan Nytz had a pair of hits with three runs scored.  Kittle's solo home run was his fourth of the season.  
 
PSU Schuylkill 5, Penn College 9
How it Happened: Penn College used a pair of long balls from Brittan Kittle and Shane Price over the first five innings of play to help build a 6-0 lead that they would not relinquish.  Justin Porter picked up his first win allowing one run in 5.1 innings of work while striking out five Nittany Lions.  The pitching staff yielded a total of five runs during the game but only two were earned. 
Inside the Box: Kittle hit his team leading fifth home run of the season.  Price hit his third home run of the season.  
 

Outside the Box: "It was great to see the team really gel as the week progressed," Penn College coach Chris Howard said.  I like the fire and passion every one of these young men have.  This is going to be a fun year watching these guys grow as a team."  "Brittan Kittle might be the hottest hitter in the country right now."  Brittan is hitting .567 on the year with 17 hits, five home runs and 13 RBI's.

Up Next: Penn College's next game will take place on Saturday, March 21st at Washington College.  They are scheduled for a doubleheader starting at Noon.
