[Baseball] Aughenbaugh and Dudek named CCAC Players of the Week

CHICAGO — A big offensive display from Cole Aughenbaugh (Oswego, Ill.) and an 11-strikeout performance by Michael Dudek (Burbank, Ill.) have earned the St. Ambrose University teammates Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week accord, respectively, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.Aughenbaugh led an offensive explosion that saw the Fighting Bees average 12.4 runs per game in a perfect 5-0 week with his .500 batting average (10-of-20), 12 runs batted in and another five scored. Among the senior outfielder's 10 hits, six went for extra bases with three doubles and three home runs. Two of the home runs came as part of a six-RBI contest versus Trinity Christian College to open the stretch of games last Tuesday.     Aughenbaugh drove in at least one run and collected at least one hit in each of the five contests, including his 4-for-6 game against Trinity Christian and a 3-for-4 effort in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday. On the mound, Dudek was dominant in a 6-1 victory over Calumet St. Joseph on Friday. The sophomore hurler scattered five hits in the nine-inning, complete-game effort with 11 strikeouts and no walks. The only run he did allow was unearned.St. Ambrose's five conference wins moved it atop the league standings at 9-1. Overall, the Fighting Bees are 14-13.
