[Baseball] Barons Drop Series 2-1 to Middle Georgia State

Cochran, GA — The Brewton-Parker Barons Baseball took on the Middle Georgia Knights over the weekend.  Game one ended in a 7-2 loss as Middle Georgia had a successful sixth inning over the Barons.  Taz Worrell (JR/Lake Butler) would lead the team offensively as he went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and the other RBI would come from Phillip Collins (JR/McDonough).  The remaining hits came from Benjamin Harris (FR/Crystal Lake, IL), Jordan Rahn (FR/Rincon), Austin Mealor (FR/Guyton), and Aaron Ushery.  Austin Visocchi started on the mound going 5.1 innings with 3 strikeouts, and would be relieved by Robert Urena, Mackenzie McDowell, and Jacob Johnson (JR/Griffin).  Game two ended in similar fashion as Middle Georgia scored late in the game leaving the score 7-1.  The Barons two hits came from Jordan Rahn and Aaron Ushery (SR/Riverdale), while the sole RBI also belonged to Rahn.  Trey Jones (JR/Baxley) threw the complete game and finished with 7 strikeouts.  Game three turned out completely different as the Barons held Middle to only 6 hits and came out with a 10-1 victory.  Taz Worrell, Jordan Rahn, and Malik Germany (FR/Grovetown) would each go 3 for 5 at the plate.  A total of 5 doubles were hit, coming from Eduardo Castillo, Rahn, Aaron Ushery, Zach Wilson, and Worrell.  Three RBIs would come from Ushery, and the other single RBIs came from Castillo, Benjamin Harris, Rahn, and Germany.  Harris would also pitch the complete 9 inning game with 14 strikeouts, and only allowing 6 hits with no earned runs.  The Barons continue into their last week of play with a non-conference doubleheader against USCB on April 27th at home.  written by: Sadie Rusteika
