[Baseball] Barons Sweep Doubleheader Against Stillman College

Mount Vernon, GA — In the final conference series of the year, the Barons took on Stillman College and came away  with a 1-0 victory.  The four hits came from Jordan Rahn (FR/Rincon), Eduardo Castilla, Benjamin Harris (FR/Crystal Lake, IL), and Malik Germany (FR/Grovetown).  The only run scored came from a wild pitch and Rahn would come in and score.  Benjamin Harris started on the mound going 4 innings with 8 strikeouts and 1 hit and Tyrus Cook (FR/Lake Butler, FL) would come in for the final 3 innings with 4 strikeouts and 1 hit.  Game two was offensively hot for the Barons as they took the win with a score of 14-4.  Some standout performances came from Benjamin Harris who went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Taz Worrell (JR/Lake Butler) who went 1 for 4 with 3 RBIs, Jackson Smith (SO/Bartow) who went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Eduardo Castillo who went 2 for 5 with an RBI.  RBIs would also come from Aaron Ushery (SR/Riverdale), Zach Wilson, Caleb Gepfer (JR/Locust Grove), Malik Germany, and Dylan Hall.  Trey Jones (JR/Baxley) would start on the mound, going 4 innings with 6 strikeouts and only gave up 2 hits and 1 run.  Austin Visocchi (JR/Blue Ridge) would come in for 2 innings with 2 strikeouts and Jacob Johnson (JR/Griffin) would come in for the final 2 innings with 1 strikeout and did not give up a single hit.   The Barons will head to Mobile, Alabama this week for their Conference Tournament, with their first game against Middle Georgia.   written by: Sadie Rusteika
