[Baseball] Baseball Falcons Score 13 Unanswered to win KCAC Opener at No. 13 Oklahoma Wesleyan

Chickasha, Okla. – Down 8-3, the Friends University Falcons came through with 13 unanswered runs that was highlighted by a 10-run eighth inning to win their KCAC opener 16-8 over the No. 13-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles today (Feb. 26) in Chickasha, Okla.The big rally started in the sixth when three straight singles by Ricardo Paris (SR/Barquisimeto, Valenzuela), Andrew Chartrand (SR/Monroe, Wash. ) and Troy Puga (SR/Pueblo, Colo.) led to three runs to make it 8-6.  Ricky Hockett (JR/Plainville, Kan. ) and Isiah Perez (JR/Larned, Kan. ) also drew walks and John Coogan (SO/Broomfield, Colo.) was hit by a pitch in the frame.That set the stage for the big eighth inning that Coogan ignited with a game-tying two-run single. Lucas Quimbly then put the Falcons on top with a single before Coogan scored the Falcons' 10th run on a wild pitch.RBI singles by Pryce Anderson (SO/Coffeyville, Kan.) and Perez continued the surge and bases-loaded walks to Coogan and Treven Veltman (SO/Goddard, Kan. ) capped the big inning.Austin Eggleston (SR/Arlington, Texas) then shut down the Eagles in the ninth to finish off the win for the Falcons.Tony Caporrimo (JR/Litchfield Park, Ariz.) pitched a pair of scoreless frames with two strikeouts to pick up the win.Eric Lindsay (SR/Cambridge, Ontario) was the starter for the Falcons and held the Eagles scoreless through the first three innings, including wiggling out of a bases-loaded jam in the second.The Falcons will next host a three-game conference series vs. Kansas Wesleyan University, starting with a single game Friday afternoon (Feb. 28) at 2 pm at Westside Athletic Field.
