[Baseball] Baseball Set to Compete in Missouri

Doane Baseball learned their fate late Thursday afternoon in regards to the destination they had in front of them for the NAIA Opening Round Tournament. The Tigers were tabbed to head to O'Fallon, Missouri, as the 5-seed and they will take on a familiar opponent in McPherson College, the 4-seed. The match-up will be the first game of the bracket on Monday, May 17, with first pitch scheduled for 10:00 AM. TOURNAMENT INFORMATION PAGE The Tigers and Bulldogs met in late February in Kansas with the host squad taking four games from Doane. The games were part of Doane's opening week of the season.The winner of Monday's morning contest will come back to take on the 1-seed, Central Methodist, on Monday evening at 6:00 PM. The loser will move into a Tuesday 10:00 AM match-up against the loser of the second game on Monday between William Carey and Benedictine-Mesa.This year marks Doane's fourth NAIA Opening Round appearance and first since 2014. The Tigers are 4-6 all-time in the opening round tournament with a 4-4 mark as a 5-seed.
