[Baseball] Catlett Tabbed GPAC Player of the Week

Doane Baseball catcher Tucker Catlett (SR/Lincoln, Neb.) has been named the GPAC Player of the Week after a hot-hitting week in which the Tigers went 5-1 overall.Catlett started the week at Werner Park as Doane met Peru State at the home of the Omaha Storm Chasers. In game two, Catlett went 2-for-3 at the plate with a ground rule double. Defensively, he had a pickoff at third base to end the 1st inning when the bases were loaded.He started game one of the four-game weekend series with Dakota Wesleyan. At the plate, he was 3-for-4. Tanner Black (FR/Elkhorn, Neb.) came in as the courtesy runner for Catlett and scored three runs.On the final day of the weekend, Catlett started the first game, third of the DWU series, and went 4-for-5 with a double and a two-run home run. Justin Nevells (FR/Chugiak, Alaska) entered as a courtesy runner and scored a run in Catlett's spot. Catlett drew a walk in the final game of the weekend in a pinch-hitting appearance.Overall on the week, Catlett was 9-for-13 at the plate with a run scored and three driven in. His spot in the order scored an additional five runs with a courtesy runner in the game. He had three extra base hits, a walk, and was hit by a pitch offensively while posting 18 putouts and five assists on defense.
