[Baseball] Eagles Fly By The Jaguars
The Eagles hosted the University of Houston – Victoria Friday night at George Dobson Field for aRed River Athletic Conference match up. TAMUT took both games 11-7 and 13-2. With the wins, the Eagles improve to (18-11, 3-3). UHV falls to (2-14, 0-6). The Eagles will be back in action tomorrow vs UHV with game one starting at 9:30 AM at George Dobson Field in Texarkana, TX. TAMUT hit three home runs in game 1, two by Cole Chambers (SR/Graham, WA). Chambers finished the day scoring six runs while driving in four between the two games. Wyatt Stavinoha (JR/Columbus, TX) blasted his first career homerun over the leftfield to lead off the 3rd in game 1. Stavinoha singled twice, scored two runs and had three RBI's. Jack Skinner (JR/Hoquiam, WA) contributed a double and added two singles in the opener and scored twice. Chris McGinty (JR/Huntsville, TX)finished with two hits and a run scored. Jared Davis (SR/Houston, TX) started game one and was the winning pitcher. Davis went four innings, scattering seven hits while walking two and striking out five. Trevor Stone (JR/Fort Worth, TX) pitched in to relieve Davis throwing the final three innings. Stone gave up zero hits, walking one and striking out two. Game 2 TAMUT expanded on a 3-2 lead in game 2scoring three runs in the fifth, and five more in the sixth. Chris McGinty muscled out three hits, including a two-run bomb over the left-center fence. McGinty also scored twice and drove in three runs. Jack Skinner, Stavinoha, Jaylan Prince (SR/Garland, TX) and Hunter Reid (FR/Plano, TX) had two hits apiece. Prince scored three runs and had two RBI's. Reid and Eric Spencer (SO/Red Bluff, CA) drove in two runs each. Carter Coats (SR/Greenbrier, AR) went the distance on the hillfor TAMUT. Coats allowed three runs on 10 hits, while walking one and striking out 6. Tyler Price suffered the loss for UHV.
