[Baseball] Eagles Score 30 Runs In Doubleheader Sweep Of Bacone
Texarkana, TX – Baseball won a pair of non-conference games against Bacone College 13-1,17-8. With the victories, the Eagles improve their overall record to 22-14 and idle at 12-6 in RRAC play. They will be back in action Friday versus Huston-Tillotson University at 7PM in Texarkana. GAME ONE (W, 13-1) TAMUT hit four home runs in game one enroute to a 13-1 win. Hunter Reid (SO/Plano, TX) led the charge blasting two of those home runs finishing the game with a 3-for-4 performance scoring four runs while knocking in four. Brandon Riley (FR/Monroe, LA) also belted a homer with a 2-for-3 day at the plate scoring three runs. Giancarlo Mijares (JR/Hercules, CA) homered and drove in two. Mike Williams (FR/Brunswick, OH) and Jack Skinner (SR/Hoquiam, WA) both doubled in the contest with Williams recording an RBI. Ryan Peterson (SR/Puyallup, WA), Shraedon Naeole-Starkey (JR/Molokai, HI), Kyle McMullen (JR/Dixon, CA), and Austin Majorsky (JR/Reno, NV) all had singles. Jordan Izzo (SR/Horatio, AR) started on the mound for TAMUT and got the win. In two innings pitched, he allowed zero runs, zero hits, while strking out two. Joe Digiacomo (JR/Las Vegas, NV), Tyler Lee (SO/Sarepta, LA), Gage Mason (FR/San Marcos, TX), Fabian Silva-Pokipala (FR/Kahalu'u, HI), and Marcus Moreno all saw time on the bump. GAME TWO (W, 17-8) The Eagle bats stayed hot in game two as TAMUT scored 17 runs on 12 hits. Mike Williams hit the winner's 5th and final home run of the day, finishing 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs including a double. Nicolas Tamez and Dakota Leopold (SO/Seguin, TX) were both 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Leopold also doubled. Jack Skinner tripled, scored three runs, and had two hits with an RBI. TJ Krause (SO/Texarkana, TX) and Wyatt Stavinoha (SR/Columbus, TX) singled while Brandon Riley legged out a triple. Mark Lopez Jr. (FR/Houston, TX) was credited with the win. Matt Slowik (SO/Lubbock, TX), Casey Nimmo (JR/Temecula, CA), Nathan Hunter (FR/Fort Worth, TX), Sean Townsend (SR/Fort Worth, TX), and Silva-Pokipala all saw action on the mound.
