[Baseball] Eagles Take Series Finale, One Win Shy Of 200 Program Victories

Texarkana, TX- After dropping the first two games of the series versus Xavier University, 10-2 and 10-8, the Eagles bounced back to win the finale 10-0 in seven innings.  The win moves TAMUT 25-17 overall and 15-9 in the Red River Athletic Conference.  The Gold sit at 16-17 and 12-12.   The Eagles are now one win shy of eclipsing 200 program victories.  A&M-Texarkana will return to play Tuesday in a clash with Texas Wesleyan at 5PM.      GAME THREE (W,10-0)(7) Marcos Moreno shut down Xavier's offense picking up his 5th win of the season.  Moreno tossed 7 innings allowing only one hit on an infield single while striking out four and walking none.  Marzavin Riles led the Eagles 10 hit attack with a 3-for-3 day including an RBI, a run scored, and two stolen bases.  Hunter Reid finished the day 2-for-3 with a double, and an RBI.  Nicolas Tamez and Mike Williams drove in two runs each with Tamez scoring three runs.  TJ Krause and Eric Spencer each singled.  Wyatt Stavinoha and Kyle McMullen recorded RBIs.     GAME TWO (L,10-8) Down 8-0 after two innings, the Eagles would attempt to make a comeback putting up a five spot in the 7th, but their rally would fall just short resulting in a 10-8 loss.  Wyatt Stavinoha, Mike Williams, and Nicholas Tamez all contributed two hits apiece.  Stavinoha and Tamez both drove in a run.   Giancarlo Mijares and Shraedon Naeole-Starkey both doubled and also contributed a run each.  Hunter Reid and Ryan Peterson each singled and had an RBI.  Michael Passariello suffered the loss while Trevor Stone and Joe Digiacomo both saw action off of the bullpen.   For more on Eagle Baseball and all things Eagle Athletics, log on to tamuteagles.com or follow us on social media outlets at TAMUT_Athletics.  Go Eagles!!
