[Baseball] Eagles Take Two To Open Series Versus Jarvis Christian

TAMUT Baseball opened their four-game series against Jarvis Christian College with a pair of wins on Friday. The Eagles won game one 13-2 and 14-7 in game two.  TAMUT'S two wins improves their overall record to 20-13 and 5-5 in the Red River Athletic Conference.  The Eagles resume the series tomorrow at 1PM.   Game 1 TAMUT 13JCC 2 Jared Davis (SR/Houston, TX) got the nod in game 1 and was impressive tossing 6 innings of three hit baseball, allowing only one run while striking out five and walking one.  Davis runs his season record to 5-4.  Michael Passariello (FR/Paradise, TX) pitched the 7th inning allowing one run on two hits while fanning two. Wyatt Stavinoha (JR/Columbus, TX) had a career day at the dish going 5 for 5 and scoring three runs.  Cole Chambers (SR/Graham, WA) would follow suit with a 3 for 4 performance scoring three runs and knocking in one.  Chris McGinty (JR/Huntsville, TX) would be the only other Eagle with multiple hits with a 2 for 3, two RBI day at the plate.  Ryan Peterson (JR/Payallup, WA) led TAMUT in RBI's with three.  Game 2 TAMUT 14JCC 7 The Eagles would see another solid pitching performance in game two, this time from Carter Coats (SR/Greenbrier, AR).  Coats went 6 2/3 innings striking out a season high 12 batters, scattering 9 hits while giving up 5 runs with 4 being earned.  Coats is now 3-0 on the hill this season.  Trevor Stone (JR/Fort Worth, TX) pitched 1 1/3 inning of relief allowing two runs on two hits.  Michael Sikorski (FR/Texarkana, TX) came in to pitch the 9th and seal the Eagle victory. Chris McGinty paced the Eagles, finishing game two 3 for 5 with a double, two RBI's , and two runs scored. Austin Majorsky (FR/Reno, NV) and Hunter Reid (FR/Plano, TX) would both contribute with two hits apiece, also plating three runs each.  Reid also doubled twice in game two.
