[Baseball] Izzo, Eagles Shut Down Huston-Tillotson

Texarkana, TX – The Eagles cruised in game one versus Huston-Tillotson 19-0 Friday afternoon at George Dobson Field.  With the win, TAMUT moves to (23-14, 13-6 RRAC) while the rams slip to (8-23, 5-15 RRAC).  The series will conclude with a doubleheader tomorrow at 1PM.  Jordan Izzo was brilliant on the mound for the winners, hurling a seven-inning shutout.  Izzo dominated the Rams lineup allowing just two hits while striking out a career best nine hitters in his second win of the season.  The Eagle offense was just as solid as Izzo, cranking out 19 runs on 19 hits.  Mike Williams led the way with a huge 4-for-5 day at the plate including two round trippers and a team leading six RBIs.  Jack Skinner also swung a hot bat, collecting four hits with two doubles, two RBIs, and three runs scored.  Kyle McMullen churned out four hits and two RBIs while teammate Wyatt Stavinoha was 2-for-4 with four runs batted in.  Giancarlo Mijares blasted his 5th homer of the season and Brandon Riley tripled for TAMUT.  For more on Eagle Baseball and all things Eagle Athletics, log on to tamuteagles.com or follow us on social media outlets at TAMUT_Athletics.  Go Eagles!!
