[Baseball] Osborn Receives NCBWA Award

Doane Baseball picked up the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Rookie of the Week award for the second consecutive week as Joe Osborn (FR/Hickman, Neb.) received the honor after a four-game series with Cornerstone (Mich.).Osborn helped pace the Tigers on the week by hitting .500, scoring five runs and driving in six as the Tigers picked up their first four-game series sweep since 2013. In game two of Friday's doubleheader, Osborn had a walk-off single to give Doane a 5-4 win. He drove in the game-winning run in game four on Saturday and scored the game-winning run in game three of the weekend. Additionally, he had a defensive web gem, making a diving catch on the warning track to end an inning with the bases loaded.On the season, he is batting .271 with four doubles and a .407 on-base percentage. He leads the team with four hit-by-pitch and second on the team with seven walks drawn.
