[Baseball] Saint Xavier Baseball Defeats Judson 5-1 in Series Opener

CHICAGO – Behind 5.0 innings of shutout pitching by junior pitcher Caleb Ziehr (Rockford. Ill./Rockford Lutheran), the Saint Xavier University baseball team (18-20/10-7 CCAC) defeated Judson University (Ill.) in game one of their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) three game series Friday afternoon at Richard R. Ferrell Field in Chicago, Ill. Ziehr, making his second start of the season, improved his record to 2-0 on the mound after allowing six hit and posting one strikeout. JU had runners in scoring position in four of his five innings, but Ziehr was able to pitch out of each jam to help the Cougars keep pace in the CCAC standings.
