[Baseball] SAU takes two over Trojans on Senior Day

The Fighting Bees found a bounceback spot against the Trinity International Trojans, taking two games at home against the conference foe Saturday afternoon.An RBI single off the bat of Shawn Rigsby got St. Ambrose out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Bees tacked two more on in the bottom of the third with a Bryce Vincent 2-RBI double before the Trojans (13-27, 4-20 CCAC) came roaring back with four unanswered runs to take the lead late.Rigsby came through in the clutch for the Bees, plating the tying run with an RBI single and then working his way around the bases to score the deciding run. Brenden Butler was plunked with the bases loaded to tally the game-winning RBI.Nick Hernandez went 1-2-3 in the final frame to nail down the win. Michael Dudek went 5 2/3 as the starter, scattering seven hits and tossing four punchouts. Adrian Zietara scored a game-high three runs in the 5-4 win.The Bees unloaded on the Trojans in game 2 of the doubleheader, putting up 11 runs and ending the game in seven innings. Cooper Huckabone plated two runners with a double in the first inning, and it was all St. Ambrose from there.Six Bees tallied RBIs in the blowout win. Rigsby and Nate Villagomez tallied two each.Francis Quinn twirled a gem on the mound, going the distance while striking out eight on three hits. St. Ambrose imrpoves to 29-9 overall and 20-5 in the CCAC. The Bees will finish the season set with Trinity International on Monday in Deerfield, Ill. First pitch will be at 3 p.m.
