[Baseball] TAMUT Drops Two Against LSUA
Alexandria, LA – Baseball dropped two against LSU-Alexandria Saturday afternoon, 5-3 and 7-5. TAMUT now sits at (17-14, 9-6) while the Generals move to (14-8, 12-3). The Eagles will return to play Friday, March 25th, in Hawkins, TX as they take on Jarvis Christian College at 1PM. GAME ONE (L, 5-3) The Eagles outhit LSUA 8 to 5 but could not overcome the Generals four run first inning. Nathan Hunter (FR/Fort Worth, TX) received the loss allowing four runs, 2 earned. Trevor Stone (SR/Fort Worth, TX) came in to start the second inning giving up a lone run in 4 innings pitched on four hits and three strikeouts. Matt Slowik (SO/Lubbock, TX) and Joe Digiacomo (JR/Las Vegas, NV) also saw time on the mound. Ethan Rodriguez (JR/Kyle, TX) drove in two of the Eagles three runs on a pinch hit single in the 4th. Giancarlo Mijares (JR/Hercules, CA) knocked in the third and final run in the 7th. Ryan Peterson (SR/Puyallup, WA), Dylan Simmons (SO/Tomball, TX), and Hunter Reid (SO/Plano, TX) each hit doubles in the loss. Mike Williams (FR/Brunswick, OH), Dakota Leopold (SO/Seguin, TX), and Nicolas Tamez all singled in the contest. GAME TWO (L, 7-5) Much like in game one, the Generals were able to get on the board early scoring 2 runs in the first and were issued three free passes by starter Michael Passariello (SO/Paradise, TX). Passariello was credited with the loss. Marcos Moreno (FR/Blessing, TX) threw 2.1 innings while giving up three runs on four hits while striking out four. Mark Lopez Jr. (FR/Houston, TX) came in to relieve Moreno and gave up two runs on three hits. Jordan Izzo (SR/Horatio, AR) threw two scoreless innings and Sean Townsend (SR/Fort Worth, TX) tossed a scoreless 8th inning. TAMUT had seven hits in the game with Leopold going 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored. Mijares doubled and drove in a run. Jake Williams (JR/Brunswick, OH), Rodriguez, and Brandon Riley each hit singles.
