[Baseball] Theiler Named GPAC Player of the Week

Andy Theiler (JR/Arlington, Neb.) helped lead the Doane Baseball team to a 4-1-1 week and for his efforts, he has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball Player of the Week. This is the first time he has received the honor in his career and also the first for Doane since April 2019.Theiler hit .440 on the week (11-of-25) with a .500 on-base percentage and .840 slugging percentage. He had hits in all six games on the week, including five multi-hit games. He accounted for 20 runs on the week, scoring nine and driving in 11.In a pair of games against Peru State, he had three hits and drove in five. The Tigers then took on Hastings in a four-game series, beginning on Saturday in Crete. He opened game one with a leadoff home run, setting the tone for the Tigers as they went on to sweep the Broncos. Theiler had two hits in each game against Hastings and scored a run in every game.For the season, Theiler is batting .396 with 14 extra base hits and 25 runs batted in. He has scored 26 runs and stolen 15 bases through 26 games.
