Hawks Make History in SoCal

When Baseball was first added to the athletic department at Holy Names University the goal was simple. Build, improve and challenge to accomplish more and more every day. When Coach Esteban Contreras took over the program that goal continued to be reinforced every day in every way. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that under his leadership and the continued development of the program each year the sky was the limit. When the announcement was made in the fall that the University would be closing, and the athletic department and baseball program would play their final season this spring that timeline was shortened. And to a man, the HNU Baseball Program took that challenge head on in every way. In the classroom they finished like never before in the fall. On the field they took the circumstances as nothing more than a reality, never a distraction. And on Friday in Southern California the Dirty Birds assured that no one will ever forget this team, this season or anything about what this special group of people has done.
