Male Athlete of the Year nominees

FREDONIA, N.Y. — The Fredonia State Male Athlete of the Year nominees are:

Malik Jemison, Basketball — Jemison led the Devils with a 13.3 ppg average, 3.9 assists per game and 39 three pointers. He ran the point for the Devils and served as captain. He had 29 points in the Devils' thrilling season-opening 112-97 win over Allegheny.
*Christian Pagano, Baseball — Pagano leads the Devils with a .373 batting average, 31 RBI, and six homeruns. He ranks second in the SUNYAC in homers and is in the Top 10 in average and RBI. He's added 11 stolen bases, eight doubles, a triple, and has played shortstop and outfield. His 31 RBI rank him eighth on the team's all time list, and he ranks fifth in total bases with 72.
*Cameron Sample, Track — During the Indoor season, Sample was First Team All-SUNYAC in long jump (second place and sixth in school history); Second Team in the triple jump (fourth place); and First Team All Region in the long jump (fourth place). He finished the Indoor Season ranked 35th in the country in long jump and was part of the school record 4×200 relay. Heading into the Outdoor SUNYAC Championship Meet (Friday and Saturday), he ranks first in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump. 
Brian Taylor, Soccer —  Taylor started every game and led the Devils with seven goals, five assists, and 19 points. He had a six-point game vs. Chatham (two goals, two assists) and five points vs. St. Vincent (two goals, one assist).

The winner will be announced May 7th at The Freddys annual awards banquet.
