Baseball Scores Three Touchdowns Worth in Win over Penn State Abington

Abington, Pa. – (4/26/2023) – Gwynedd Mercy University (17-16) scored double digit runs for the ninth time this season as they dismissed Penn State Abington (17-17) by 21-8 (7 innings) final in this afternoon's weather-shortened affair. The Griffins took a comfortable lead with their eight-run third inning (8-0). They doubled their lead with an eight-run fifth inning (16-0) and a five-run sixth inning (21-0) before the Nittany Lions rallied and rain rolled in. Five Griffins recorded multiple hits, graduate designated hitter Billy Collins (Hatfield, Pa.) (3-for-5, BB, R, 4RBI), senior catcher Nick Price (Levittown, Pa.) (3-for-5, BB, 3R, 2RBI), and senior third baseman Noah Andress (Levittown, Pa.) (3-for-4, BB, 3R, 3RBI) led the group with three hits apiece. Collins and sophomore left fielder Cooper Root (Runnemede, N.J.) (1-for-3, 2BB, 3R, 4RBI) both totaled four runs-batted-in (RBI).
